The benefits of exercise on physical health and weight management are well known; however, did you know that exercise also benefits mental health? Brain benefits of physical activity, include decreased anxiety, reduced depression, improved sleep, and improved cognition. Exercise also reduces the risk of dementia and depression. At My Wellness Psychiatry, LLC we value the benefits of psychiatric medications, talk therapy, and we stress the importance of adopting healthy lifestyle modifications, including exercise. Alexi Castro, BS, CPT, PAGE obtained his bachelor of science in exercise science and a minor in coaching at Shippensburg University in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania. He recieved a wrestling scholarship to university. He is an exercise physiologist and human performance specialist. Alexi is certified with the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a personal trainer and is certified in Power, Agility, and Group Exercise (PAGE). Alexi is the founder of The Chase Lifestyle, LLC. The Chase Lifestyle is dedicated to helping individuals integrate a balanced approach to training the mind and body in the pursuit of health and personal development, without losing motivation.
